Old Home Love // Elizabeth, NJ

I found a memory card from last summer’s trip to New Jersey.  I had a good time while I was home.  I went to the beach, hung out by the pool, and ate funnel cake on the boardwalk.  I also took a joyride with my brother and sister through our old neighborhood of Elmora Hills.  A section of Elizabeth, NJ.  It’s where my three siblings and I were all born and spent our early years.  I think growing up here had a lot to do with my love for older homes.  I was so lucky to be surrounded by such beauty.  When I think about my time there, my mind is flooded with some of the happiest memories of my life.  I cherish those moments, and I enjoy driving through every now and again.  I guess I’m just nostalgic like that!

I love to observe all the detail, age, and character each of these homes exhibits.  Think about all the stories they could tell.  I just snapped a few pictures as we drove around, I hope you enjoy!

I look forward to the day I can show my children the hill that Aunt Lisa and mommy used to sled down… in the summer.  Yeah, we did that.

My Style Me Pretty Wedding

I’m just gonna spit out the good news, our wedding is being featured today, on STYLE ME PRETTY! Yay! So excited!  At the bottom of my post there is a link to the site so you can see all my beautiful wedding pictures, the Style Me Pretty Way.

You know, so you’re prepared for those times when you’re going to be photographed?  You know you do.  It doesn’t matter if it’s a girl’s night out or your wedding day, there’s nothing wrong with being prepared for the camera.  You could be thinking you have this big happy smile painted across your face, when really you look like you’re being held at gunpoint.  iPhones are very good for those of us who are unaware of our facial expressions, because you can see what you look like on the screen before taking the picture – it’s WONDERFUL! – then you instagram the heck out of it and you’re all set!

For all of you who practice your “photo faces”, in private or as a group activity, I tip my hat to you.

When you’re not aware of the kinds of faces you make, the results can be fatal.  What does this have to do with my wedding, you ask?  Take a look. AND MY PRIDE. IS. SWALLOWED.
